What is an ITC Conference Grant?

Conference Grants are aimed at supporting PhD students and Early Career Investigators from Participating Inclusiveness Target Countries (ITC)to attend international science and technology related conferences not specifically organised by the COST Action MINEA.

CONFERENCE GRANTS – ELIGIBILITY AND RULES

The following eligibility criteria applies:

  • Conference Grants are exclusively reserved for PhD students and ECI’s (PhD Graduation within the last 8 years) with a primary affiliation in an institution located in an ITC (Link).
  • The applicant must make an oral/poster presentation at the conference in question and must be listed in the official event/conference programme.
  • The main subject of the oral presentation / poster presentation / speech at the approved conference is to disseminate results from MINEA Working Group activities. In this sense, a conversation with the respective WG Leader (WGs) is recommended before the application of the ITC Conference Grant. For evaluation purposes, each applicant has to provide details on the conference and the expected contribution in the application (Template).
  • Each Grantee, during the presentation, has to introduce MINEA (general overview) and the related MINEA Working Group (in specific), and has to acknowledge COST. Pre-defined slides, ready to use, will be provided to the Grantee.
  • The Grantee has 30 days from the end date of the Conference in question to submit a scientific report (through e-COST).
  • CONFERENCE GRANTS – FINANCIAL SUPPORT

    A Conference Grant is a contribution to the overall travel, accommodation and meal expenses of the selected Grantee, i.e. not all expenses are covered by the Grant. The calculation of the financial contribution for each Conference Grant will respect the following criteria:

  • Up to a maximum of EUR 2 500 in total can be afforded to each successful applicant (travel expenses and conference fee);
  • Up to a maximum of EUR 500 can be claimed for the conference fees to be incurred by the selected Grantee.
